A lot of people have broadband / DSL connections for their computers at home or at the office. This makes the Web very accessible. People will search on the Web for something specific – that is usually why they go onto the Internet… to find something. When they search for keywords that relate to your business or website, you want to show up high in the search engine results – usually in the top 10 is where you need to be.

Get the Search Engine Optimization Done (SEO)

Before you even get started marketing your website, you want to be sure that it is set up correctly. You will want to make sure you perform SEO, which stands for Search Engine Optimization tasks to your website. Either you can do this or you can hire someone. This work includes things like getting the right keyword list made, putting keywords in page titles, creating the right meta tags, doing internal linking, having search engine friendly URLs and so on. For the purposes of this article, we are going to assume you have had this work done. If not, do it first before you start promoting your website and you will be doing yourself a big favor.

The next thing to do is rank better. This is the main thing and the main thing in doing SEO is to get incoming links. Each website that links to yours is like voting for your website. The more votes you get, the higher you rank.You need more votes than your competition to rank above them. Links using hypertext (linked text) from sites that also rank well is optimal but a link is a link and they all help.

How Do You Get Incoming Links?

Getting inbound links to your website can be done in a few ways. The best way is when people just naturally like your website and want to link to it. You do this by providing content that is link worthy. You can also encourage people to bookmark your site on social bookmarking sites like Delicious.com. Be sure to ask friends and any business associates or vendors to link to your company website. And you can always search around for related sites and propose link exchanges. Actually, you may be getting these requests already from other websites – this is why. These link exchanges are really worth doing, so let’s help each other out and do as many as we can. Don’t ignore those requests.

One powerful way to get inbound links to your website is with article marketing. This article that you are reading right now is article marketing. What you do is take some time and write up an article that’s full of good information. Your article should strive to answer a common question that people may have about a subject. You then will submit your unique article to article directories. At the end of your article, don’t forget to include a resource box, which contains inbound links back to your website.

The key to submitting articles is that the article needs to be original and unique on each article repository that it appears on. It could take hours and hours to write and then re-write an article over and over and doing that is probably not worth your time. You would also then need take time to submit each article, which is also very labor intensive. Well, as you might have guessed, there’s an easier way. It’s called the Unique Article Wizard.

The great thing about the Unique Article Wizard is that it takes your article and automatically submits it to hundreds of article websites around the Internet that will post it for no cost to you. It also makes sure that articles are unique. The sites that your article ends up on are sites that Google knows about, so they are good links to get pointing back to your site. Nice.

Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take some time. It’s true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it’s really no time at all. If you have writer’s block, then don’t worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a fair price. When I sit down to do some writing, I try to remember AIDA, which means:

* Attraction

* Interest

* Desire

* Action

That is what your article needs to accomplish and do it in that order. It must get attention. If it doesn’t, then people will never read it and get to the next part, which is get their interest and then turn it into desire. You then end it with a call to action. One way to accomplish of all this is to write a “how to” type of article. These grab attention nicely and lots of people type the words “how to” into Google when they go online to search.

You’ll then go through the wizard that’s available, where you re-write each paragraph a little and then it submits your article for you. I usually have it submit about 60 a day and aim for it to be submitted to 500-600 or more article directories. Not bad, right?

What happens in about a week or so is that you start to see more visitors to your website to your website. search engines also sees more sites that link to your site and you get moved up in the rankings. If you submit just 1 article per week, you would see amazing results and increased traffic. Your goal is to look like an expert in your field with lots of websites linking to yours. When that happens, people will follow the links they find when they read your good information and will come to you to buy your products or services.
