How To Use Video Marketing To Promote Your Online Business For Free
Filed under Internet Marketing
We would be discussing about making videos for free with windows movie maker, publishing the videos and using them in viral marketing, the topic can be divided into three parts, a) Basics of windows movie maker, b) getting free pictures for the movies and 3) Publishing your homemade movie.
There is a miss conception that all video must be of animated images for it to be successful and that setting up such a video is both very expensive and time consuming. It is in fact possible to create brilliant video using still images and text either before, during or after a clip for no cost at all. Using still images can be very powerful for the reason that the image is there for more time than animated video hence creating a longer lasting impression on the mind this is especially true when using images of an emotional nature. When you see adverts on television requesting for aid in war torn countries or for countries that have experienced a natural disaster they often use these powerful still images for this very reason.
The Windows movie maker application comes preinstalled on all modern computers using windows operating systems. You can open it simply by hitting the start button, going to all programs and then clicking on the movie maker icon. At the bottom of the movie maker interface you will notice a time line to indicate the duration of the movie. It has 3 sections for video/pictures, audio/music and title overlay and it is the birth place of you movie. There are no standard procedures on using the movie maker. To start with, write down the entire idea in a few phrases and also write down the captions that are going to appear in the clippings. Once you build a flow with several captions, start implementing them on the movie maker. There are three sections on the left hand side of movie maker, namely Import, Edit and Publish. You would use the titles and credits in the edit section to include your captions. Once you go to titles and credits you will be given the option of having your own caption at the beginning, before the picture comes up or over the top of the picture while it is playing. In this example I’m using, it is the title on the selected clip. When you click on the title on the selected clip, a box will appear where you can write your text and the video screen will keep showing the entire thing is going to look like as youre typing it. Under your text box there will be more options to change the animation, size, colour and font of the text. Complete this section before you write your text. The length of your caption will determine the animation you will be able to use. Ideally you should choose the one that allows long captions and then experiment later. To change it, just click on change the title animation and then scroll up or down until you find “scroll, perspective”. Click it and then click again on “edit the title text” to go back to the text box. Type your text into that box and watch it scroll up the default picture as you type it. Once you are happy with your text you can click the “add title” button and your text box will appear at the bottom of your time line. There you can stretch or compress the text to move it as slow or as fast as you like through the time line.
So now the time has come to add a picture to your text. In the next section I will tell you how to get free pictures, as of now assume that you already have them. In the import section on the left side click on pictures then locate it in the respective folders and select it. Click on “import” and the picture will appear in the movie maker. From here you can simply drag and drop the picture into the video/picture section on the time line and stretch this to match your text. You have to follow the exact process to add audio or music to your time line. But obviously you cant stretch the music. So you have to cut it according to your clip length beforehand. It is advisable to use songs without any copyright issues. So now you can move ahead and make the whole video repeating these steps. Just try to stick to the relevant topic and put some promotional text for your business at the end.
The simplest way to find thousands of up to date photographs on your video is to open Google, type the keywords relevant to your need in the search bar and click on images button in the left corner. You will get a bunch of pictures on the screen. You can click on anyone of them to enlarge the picture. After zeroing in on one of them, right click on it and then choose “save picture as” and also select the folder on your PC where you want to save it. This trick works with Yahoo and most other search engines too.
As far as publishing is concerned, firstly just complete the film on movie maker and publish it on your own computer. To do that just click on “this computer” in the publish to section on the left hand side of the movie maker window, give a name to the video and click next. You will also get an option to compress the file but it is advisable to leave it with default settings and publish it. I generally suggest two different sites that allows publish your video to multiple sites which in turn would help to get a Google ranking for the video in a matter of a few minutes. But you would have to pay a monthly subscription fee but the traffic that can be driven to your website will be priceless. tubemogul.com is one of the sites and it allows a certain amount of free uploads per month. But it can be very restrictive when it comes to the content that is uploaded and can close your account sans any prior notification. Another site I use more often is trafficgeyser.com. It has a 30 day free trial and then a monthly subscription of $99 a month after that. It is definitely a better place to
