Why should chiropractors use Facebook as a tool for marketing chiropractic? There are advantages that are easily obtained using this website. One client of mine increased his patients by 12 by just using Facebook for a week. How do you do this? Read on to learn.
Here are some convincing marketing facts about Facebook.
It’s got a massive user base: There are over 200 million people currently using Facebook. That’s almost the population of the 8th largest country in the world!
If we talk about the time that these users spend logged on the website, you’ll see that over 4 billion minutes are spent by users in Facebook. There are over a 100 million users that use the website at least once a day.
Another valuable statistic: 75% of Facebook are older than college students and are 35 years old and older.
Your market instantly reaches other untouched markets: An average Facebook user has 120 friends – who are not your patients yet.
What do these numbers mean for you? It just means that if you can have 200 patients via Facebook, then you can get over 24,000 patients in the future!
To get you started, follow these steps to use Facebook as an effective marketing tool.
1. Find or invite your patients on Facebook
My client – the chiropractor who got 12 new patients within a week – had 500 patients, but he told me that he had no Facebook account. I knew he was overlooking a major marketing opportunity.
When he did join Facebook, he began to add friends using his account. To make this even easier, he allowed Facebook to add more friends via invites using his contacts’ email addresses.
2. Upload videos to encourage your contacts’ participation
What could be easier than to post an online video of yourself to make things more interesting in your Facebook page. My client posted a video on the topic of getting chiropractic treatment when back pain strikes.
The video was uploaded first in Youtube but was reuploaded in my client’s Facebook page. The whole process was simplified by Facebook.
There are a tremendous number of videos being uploaded in Facebook every day. This makes videos a very effective way to get people to be more interested in your Facebook page.
3. Use emails to your advantage!
Emails are a good way to actually spread information regarding his Facebook page. My client sent out emails that contained his Facebook link and the newest content that he has uploaded.
So now his patients have received two messages:
- The invitation to join the Facebook community – Your personal email that promotes your Facebook site and content.
How were the gains of chiropractic marketing achieved via Facebook?
It’s very easy to get potential patients to visit your page and learn about your practice if your site gets a lot of activity via your existing patient’s feedback. Remember that one of your average clients will have 120 contacts, and all of these people will be using Facebook frequently sooner or later.
The doctor who had an increase of new patients (12 a week) was able to do this when he followed the instructions above. He was able to keep this increase by keeping his activity on his page constant. He supplements this by sending out emails. Because of this, patients and customers come almost automatically.
Once he gained site traffic, he kept the momentum going by continuing to post more chiropractic videos, and informing his clients each time he uploads a new one. For each video posted, he gained new patients or reactivations.
To sum this all up, Facebook is something you can utilize as a marketing tool for your chiropractic practive. Because it is one of the biggest social sphere in the internet, following the three steps mentioned above would get you your desired patient base. What’s more is that you can do all this without spending a dime.
